No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Shared Hosting
We've tackled the issue of silent data corruption on all our shared hosting servers by using the state-of-the-art Z file system, or ZFS. The latter is more advanced than other file systems since it is the only one in existence that checks all of the files in real time by employing a checksum - a digital identifier that is unique for every single file. When you upload content to your account, it will be stored on several SSD drives and constantly synchronized between them for redundancy. ZFS constantly compares the checksum of all files and if any file is detected as corrupted, it is replaced immediately with a good copy from some other disk. As this happens in real time, there's no risk that a bad file may remain or may be duplicated on the rest of the SSDs. ZFS requires lots of physical memory in order to carry out the real-time checks and the benefit of our cloud website hosting platform is that we employ multiple powerful servers working together. If you host your websites with us, your information will be undamaged no matter what.
No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you get one of our semi-dedicated hosting packages, you will not need to worry about silent file corruption as we use ZFS - an advanced file system that checks all files in real time. Every time you upload a file to your hosting account, ZFS will assign a unique digital fingerprint to it - the so-called checksum. That file will be synced between multiple SSD drives for redundancy, so if one drive fails, the other ones will take over. ZFS compares the checksum of all copies on the different drives and when it detects a corrupted copy, it replaces it with a healthy one from a different drive. This is done instantly, so there will be no threat for any part of your content at any moment. In contrast, all of the other file systems execute checks only after a system malfunction, but since they don't use anything similar to the checksums that ZFS uses, they can't detect silently corrupted files, so a corrupted copy can be replicated on the rest of the drives as well and you can lose crucial info. Because this is not the case with ZFS, we are able to guarantee the integrity of each file you upload no matter what.
